RN – Cardiac Cath Lab in Medford, OR

Summary
The Cardiac Cath Lab Technician Prepares Cardiac Catheterization lab and assists during procedures, operates X-ray equipment or monitoring equipment. Scrubs to assist cardiologists. Tasks are periodically observed during the procedure, and the results are reviewed and reported by a Staff Cardiologist.

 

Minimum Qualifications
Certified CV Tech in good standing
1 year experience in an active cardiac catherization lab or equivalent within last 3 years
Current BLS, TB
Self-Directed and Detailed Oriented
Excellent Communication Skills
Multitask and Prioritize
Ability to pass a background check

Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and position patients for invasive heart procedures.
Monitor gauges, recorder and video screens of computer system during imaging of cardiovascular system.
Conduct cardiovascular tests to record patients’ cardiac activity using specialized electronic test equipment, recording devices and laboratory instruments.
Prepare reports of diagnostic procedures for interpretation by physician.

Job Summary

The RN is responsible for managing the care of assigned patients in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern any facility the nurse is working in.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current RN license in good standing in state of practice
  • Minimum 1 year experience as RN
  • Minimum 1 year experience in specialty area within last two years
  • Current AHA Healthcare Provider certification
  • Current advanced certification as required by specialty (i.e. ACLS, PALS, etc.)
  • Other as required for specific assignments or for employment

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process while following hospital policies and procedures to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
  • Collect and analyze assessment data to develop individualized plans of care of patients identifying expected outcomes and interventions
  • Implement interventions identified on patient care plans
  • Evaluate patient progress in attaining outcome goals
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and reprioritize plan care as indicated
  • Collaborates with patient, family, and other healthcare providers in developing plan of care and providing patient care
  • Follow all policies and procedures for hospital/ unit assigned to
  • Document nursing care according to hospital policies and procedures and in a clear, concise, and legible manner, reflecting individual patient status
  • Ensure physician orders are carried out accurately and timely
  • Assist other staff as necessary to ensure the provision of quality nursing care
  • Provide/document individualized patient/family education as indicated
  • Respond promptly to patient emergencies in a safe and appropriate manner
  • Keep all appropriate healthcare providers informed of patient condition including changes-includes providing information yet concise report at change of shift
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times according to hospital policy and procedures and HIPPA requirements
  • Act as a patient advocate and provide care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to patient/family diversity while preserving each patient’s autonomy, dignity, and rights
  • Recognize and understand age specific needs of patients while providing care
  • Report/document all incidents such as medication errors and patient incidents to hospital staff as defined in hospital policy and procedures
  • Adapt to the needs of the unit by demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
  • Use good nursing judgment at all times
  • Conduct self in a professional manner at all times-this includes arriving to work on time and completing each shift as determined by the hospital
  • Maintain clean and safe environment at all times
  • Other duties as defined/assigned by the hospital and assigned supervisor
